Hi, it’s been some time since my last post, but that’s because a lot of work needs to be done.
In the meanwhile I found someone to help me with the engine job. The first thing he recommended was to get rid of the plastic breather valve. Since this had been in in for too long already it was quite a job to change it to on oversize S&S metal one. Also tappet blocks were removed.
Still to do : Change the cam to an Andrews one, fit new tappet rollers and replace the oil pump with an S&S version.

Today the nosecone was removed, which was an easy job. The ignition has to still be verified however. Here some pictures :

I rebuilt an old sportster fork so the double brakes of my 19″ front wheel would fit. For now fitting is only temporary since I still need to check and fix everything for placement. Also a good moment to refresh fork oil.
I also tried to fit the old “Hydra” headlight part what I had lying around. It almost fits, I might build my own custom headlight with plating/mounting but since everything takes so much time that’s not sure yet….

Today I tried the rear wheel because I finally managed to get an axle. Sadly my fork is not good yet since my front wheel will have double brakes, therefore the fork needs to be wider. (at least 19cm between the legs)



As you can see my 4 speed gearbox fits well.
I have also tried the springs, which seem to be ok.

Somewhere on stage played at a local pub nearby so we went to check it out. It was great to hear some good old maiden songs again

Hi, I’ve checked the tranny, no teeth were missing, the shifter forks were still straight and no broken pieces. All gears seemd to shift well. I bought some new gaskets and put it all back together.

After this I still have to fit the clutch release lever and the kicker arm to complete the tranny.

Here is a small wiring diagram which I have found somewhere to connect the coils to the ignition. This may also work for my custom bike, so I thought I’d share it with you

Yesterday there was a Helloween concert in  “Effenaar” in Eindhoven. It was great !

First there was a small pretty gay band “Trick or Treat” It was more like cabaret and actually pretty funny.

After that Stratovarius played and they also played some old songs, which was actually cool.

Andy Deris from Helloween started the show with song “Are U Metal ?!” and also the rest of the setlist was great.

Some songs played were “Sole survivor, March of Time, Eagle fly free, Handful of Pain, World of Fantasy, Sinners, I am  Alive, I want Out, Fure World, A medly of Helloween and others and finally Dr. Stein.
